Five Favorite Front-Page Features #2

This week is a bit of a mixed bag....

#5. Thought this was interesting...NASA is still concerned about the future of space exploration...trying to sell a launch pad but no one will bite because of the future is of space exploration is questionable....though they did sell the landing strip to NASCAR  http://news.yahoo.com/nasa-leasing-selling-unused-launch-pads-processing-training-191000935.html

#4 This one is a bit old news..but it finally just affected me.  End of the year with the end of the Social Security tax cuts my pay check went down by $25 a paycheck.  The frustrating thing is that is less money than I was making before my small raise last year. I don't really have that big of a problem with the end of the tax cut...but I have a problem with it being a temporary tax cut because it is like all of my hard work is gone. http://now.msn.com/payroll-tax-cuts-likely-to-end-in-2013

#3 The nominee for Secretary of Treasury has a very interesting signature and I am curious as to how that could be on our paper currency now....

#2 11 year old boy in coma after cardiac arrest dies after a week....so sad!  He was a soccer player in Utah and went into arrest during a game.  I feel for his family and friends. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=23679084

#1 Flu outbreak...apparently the shot is 59-62% effective (I have heard a range) but the weird thing to me was that the other day they were telling me about how I should go and get the flu shot because it will help so much.  Then the effectiveness of the shot comes out and I'm less convinced...and then today the doctor guy on the news says the number means that I am less likely to go to the doctor but apparently not less likely to get the flu.  What's the point then?  *Knock on wood* I haven't had the flu since I was 10....and I have NEVER had a flu shot.  So why start now?  http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/10/health/flu-vaccine-effectiveness/index.html
